How to configure Link Aggregation with NETGEAR switches
Step 1
Go to Switching – LAG – LAG Configuration and give your first LAG a name (any name will do).
Click on Add and let the switch populate the rest of the fields.
Step 2
Go to LAG Membership and choose the ports you want in this LAG (click on Unit 1 to show all ports) and give that LAG a description. In this case we’ll select ports 27 and 28 to participate in our LAG.
Click Apply.
Step 3
Now do the same steps for the other switch. You can give that LAG any name and any description – they don’t have to match. You can select any port. Just be sure that you connect to the specified ports on each side.
Step 4
Now plug the two cables into the specified ports and go back to LAG Configuration and scroll all the way across until you see Link Status. Be sure the Link Status show UP (in this case I haven’t connected the cables so the status shows DOWN for now).
