Default Web Interface Password for NETGEAR Devices

This article lists the default passwords used to access the web-based administration interface on NETGEAR products.

Default username and password:

"Default" means the settings that the device had when it left the factory. These are also the settings that will be used after a router is reset to its factory default settings. The password can be changed, but cannot change the username

If the admin password has been changed from the default and lost or forgotten, you will need to reset the NETGEAR device back to factory default settings in order to use the default username and password.  Note: Restoring a device to its factory default settings will erase all configuration changes you have aved to the device.

For most NETGEAR devices (AP, Smart Switches, Router ...)

  • Username (all models) = admin
  • Password (current models) = password

For ReadyNAS/ReadyDATA products:

  • Username (all models) = admin
  • Password (ReadyNAS OS5/OS6 and ReadyDATA OS) = password
  • Password (RAIDiator OS 4.x.x) = netgear1

For NETGEAR Fully Managed Switches:

  • Username = admin
  • Password is blank (no need to enter any password).
