R8500 Port Aggregation with Synology NAS
Ethernet aggregation lets you combine two Gigabit Ethernet ports for file transfers at twice the speed. You can use Ethernet AGGREGATE ports 1 and 2 to cable a device that supports Ethernet port aggregation to the router.
Enable Port Aggregation on the R8500
- Launch a web browser from a computer or wireless device that is connected to the network.
- Enter http://www.routerlogin.net.
A login screen displays. - Enter the router user name and password.
The user name is admin. The default password is password. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
The BASIC Home screen displays. - Select ADVANCED>Advanced Setup>Ethernet Port Aggregation.
Enable LACP on Synology NAS.
- Use Ethernet cables to connect the Synology NAS to Ethernet port 1 and port 2 on the router.
- Launch a web browser to access the Synology NAS management page.

- Go back to the R8500 UI and check if Port Aggregation status is now Active.
