ProSafe Wireless Controller WC9500 and WC7600: Replacing a failed primary controller in a 1:1 redundancy group

In this scenario the stacking is configured with the following settings:

Master controller IP address: 192.168.0.101
Secondary controller IP address: 192.168.0.102
VRRP ID: 1
Local IP address: 192.168.0.254

The primary controller fails and the secondary controller takes its place.

These steps are necessary to replace the failed primary controller.

1. Configure the replacement controller with the same password and Local IP address that was used when configuring the redundancy. In this example we use Local IP: 192.168.0.254
Note: The replacement controller must use the IP address that matches the Local IP address used when the redundancy was configured, the password of the replacement controller must also match the existing password used in the active controller. The replacement controller must have the same amount of Licenses to match the failed controller.

2. Login to the web interface of the active controller. The web interface is still accessible on the primary controller IP address as it is now assigned to the secondary controller.

3. Go to Stacking - Configuration. Click REPLACE (located on bottom right). A pop up appears, enter the Local IP address (in this example 192.168.0.254) and the password. Click Apply.

4. A pop up shows to confirm the controller is replaced
