R8500 Port Aggregation with ReadyNAS

Ethernet aggregation lets you combine two Gigabit Ethernet ports for file transfers at twice the speed. You can use Ethernet AGGREGATE ports 1 and 2 to cable a device that supports Ethernet port aggregation to the router.

Enable Port Aggregation on the R8500

  1. Launch a web browser from a computer or wireless device that is connected to the network.
  2. Enter http://www.routerlogin.net.
    A login screen displays.
  3. Enter the router user name and password.
    The user name is admin. The default password is password. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
    The BASIC Home screen displays.
  4. Click ADVANCED>Advanced Setup>Ethernet Port Aggregation.

Enable LACP on ReadyNAS

  1. Use Ethernet cables to connect the ReadyNAS to Ethernet port 1 and port 2 on the router.
  2. Launch a web browser from a computer or wireless device that is connected to the network.
  3. Enter ReadyNAS_IP_address/admin (ex. 10.0.0.100/admin). A login screen displays.
  4. Enter the ReadyNAS username and password.
  5. Click Network then the gear icon.
  6. Click New Bond.

  7. Tick Bond with box then set the Teaming Mode and Hash Type as below.
  8. Click Create.



  9. Go back to the R8500 UI and check if Port Aggregation status is now Active.
