How do I reset my AirCard 785 to factory default settings?
Overview:
This article will provide you with steps on how you can reset the device to factory default in two different ways.
Symptoms:
- Forgot admin password and need to rest it.
- Erase all of the settings saved on the AirCard Mobile Hotspot.
- Need to reset the AirCard Mobile Hotspot to its factory default settings.
Process:
To reset AirCard 785 to factory defaults using Navigation button and Power Button:

On the AirCard785, locate the Navigation button and Power button.

Press the Navigation button and Power button at the same time for 5 seconds.

The LED screen will show 3 options: Factory Reset, Install Win XP drivers and Cancel.

Select Factory Reset by pressing the Navigation button.

Press the Power button once to initiate reset process.

Wait for the device to reset finish the process of resetting itself to factory default.
To reset AirCard 785 to factory defaults using WebUI:

Using a computer, smart phone or tablet that’s connected to your AC785, open an Internet browser.

Go to http://netgear.aircard.

The page will ask for the administrator password. By default, the password is password.

On the left side, click on Settings. Click on General Tab and then go to Software and Reset.

Scroll down then just click on the Reset button.
Note: Since the device is resetting itself to factory default, you may lose access to the WebUI. Reconnect to the wireless network to regain access to the WebUI. The default SSID and password will be displayed on the LCD screen.
